KUALA LUMPUR: Engineering and project management consultant HSS Engineers Bhd is tendering for RM180 million worth of projects across the transportation, port and water sectors.
Executive vice-chairman Tan Sri Kuna Sittampalam said more than 60 per cent of the projects tendered consisting of the engineering design segment.
"We aim to bolster our order book further as we help the nation continue its crucial economic development phase," he said in a statement today.
Kuna said the company remained optimistic of seeing the revival of major urban transportation, as well as water infrastructure projects.
They include the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit 3, Bayan Lepas Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS).
Other projects are the Kuching LRT and Interstate Water Transfer schemes (namely the Sungai Perak Raw Water Transfer Scheme, Rasau Water Supply Scheme, Sarawak Grid Study, and non-revenue water mitigation measures).
As at June 30 this year, HSS Engineers' unbilled order book stood at RM524.8 million, which include ongoing works for the East Coast Rail Line, Bus Rapid Transit and Langat 2 Water Supply Scheme, which is slated to provide earnings visibility for the next two to four years approximately.
For the first half ended June 30, 2020, the company recorded a net profit of RM4.9 million against RM2.5 million net loss a year ago, with its revenue climbing 15.1 per cent to RM82.8 million from RM72 million previously.
