No reload at PLUS toll plaza exits nationwide soon

PLUS says the "No Touch 'n Go reload service" will soon be extended nationwide, covering its Southern and Northern toll plaza exit lanes. - NSTP/Halimaton Saadiah Sulaiman.

KUALA LUMPUR: PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) said they recorded an approximated drop from 42,500 cars per day to 22,000 cars with insufficient balance in their Touch ‘n Go cards as at Sept 30 this year, marking a significant 48.2 percent.

This drop at its central region toll plazas exit lanes is attributed to PLUS' implementation of the "No Touch 'n Go reload service" since Aug 1 this year.

PLUS informed that the "No Touch 'n Go reload service" will soon be extended nationwide, covering its Southern and Northern toll plaza exit lanes.

"When PLUS initiated the 'No Touch ‘n Go reload service' over two months ago, there has been significant reduction in drivers with insufficient balance attempting to reload their Touch ‘n Go cards at the exit lanes at toll plazas in the Central Region between Seremban and Ipoh South," PLUS said in a statement today.

Statistics on day one showed a daily average traffic volume of 850,000 vehicles in the Central Region, whereby the daily congestion at the toll exit lanes are a direct result of 5 per cent drivers with insufficient balance in their Touch ‘n Go cards.

"Though the figure of 5 per cent seems small, it is 42,500 vehicles contributing to high congestion and time wastage, impacting 95 per cent of other drivers on the PLUS highway.

"PLUS is grateful to its customers who have contributed to the 48.2 per cent reduction in the central region, due to their civic mindedness and considerate attitude to top up their Touch ‘n Go cards prior to entering the North South Expressway (NSE)," the statement read.

PLUS also acknowledges the contribution and support of all the merchants and providers who ensure their Touch ‘n Go reload machines are well maintained and properly serviced, which allows customers to enjoy uninterrupted reload services at all times.
