Joint-venture (JV) firm MRCB George Kent Sdn Bhd (MRCB-GK) has entered into a fixed-price contract agreement with Prasarana Malaysia Bhd for the design, construction, completion, testing and commissioning of the Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT3) from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia.
Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB) and George Kent (M) Bhd, in separate statements to Bursa Malaysia last week, noted the JV in November last year accepted a letter of appointment from Prasarana for the LRT3 for a fixed contract sum of RM11.856 billion.
The figure includes a contingency sum of RM400 million, which, if not utilised, will reduce the contract sum.
The project is slated to be completed on Feb 28, 2024, unless extended according to the contract.
